Bio:PhD in Spanish Cultural Studies, Nottingham Trent, 9 years' experience of French to English and Spanish to English academic and literary translation with the University of London and independently.
Bio:I have been translating for 2 years now, having been a teacher for many years before that. The work I do at the moment is commercial translation, mainly business material, but I would love to get into literary translation.
Bio:I wear a couple of hats: I am a Lecturer in Translation Studies specialising in Computer-Assisted Translation - CAT - tools, and I am also an instructional designer using my background in languages and technology to produce effective multilingual, multimedia online reso...urces.
I work a lot with CAT tools such as SDL Trados 2011, MemoQ, SDL Passolo, Wordfast, Deja Vu X2, OmegaT and more, and I also have several rapid e-learning tool favourites such as Articulate Studio 09 and Articulate Storyline which I also have experience in teaching. However, I generally use many other apps to make the e-learning resources I build more interactive and engaging.
If you have a sweet tooth for e-learning and are ever in the neighbourhood of my E-Learning Bakery http://elearningbakery.com, I hope you will find it a pretty good place to get inspiration about using technology for learning and teaching, as well as details on how we can collaborate, and what the dozens of professionals I have been working with so far think about me.

Bio:I hold an MA in Translation, Writing and Cultural Difference from the University of Warwick. The focus was on literary translation and literary translation is the reason I entered the profession in the first place, but I have found it impossible so far to get any transl...ation work even remotely connected to literature. I hope to maybe get some tips and advice from established literary translators during this event.
