Source text - English A good translation requires the right skills, the right experience, the right attitude, the right commitment, the right enthusiasm, the right attention to detail, the right flair, the right fluency. If just one of these is missing, quality is the first casualty. The best translation is the one that no one recognizes as a translation. In other words, the document should read as though it were written in the target language originally. It must be a version of a text in another language which is faithful to the original, but is written in the idiom of the language of the translation, yet suffers no loss of precision and colour of the original text. It must also maintain the integrity of the original message.
Translation - Slovak Dobrý preklad si vyžaduje tie správne znalosti, tie správne skúsenosti, ten správny prístup, tú správnu oddanosť, to správne zanietenie, tú správnu pozornosť k detailom, ten správny čuch, tú správnu obratnosť, ten správny spád. Ak čo i len jediná z tíchto daností chýba, kvalita prekladu je tou prvou obeťou. Tým najlepším prekladom je ten, ktorý nik nerozozná ako preklad. Inými slovami, dokument by sa mal dať čítať ako by bol pôvodne písaný v cieľovom jazyku prekladu. Musí to byť verzia textu v danom jazyku, ktorý je pravým obrazom originálu, ale ja napísaný rečou cieľového jazyku prekladu, avšak ktorý neutrpel stratu na precíznosti a sfarbení originálneho textu. Taktiež musí zachovať integritu pôvodného posolstva.
