First, I have gathered over the past fifteen years much experience in business and in the academic world, which led me to develop... the ability to translate texts from English to Portuguese, whether for lectures, classes, advisory or the courses that I attended. Second, I want to stay at home as long as possible to take care of my 87-year-old mother, and being a translator helped me in this need.
In the past years, I served as a consultant and principal at firms such as Gemini Consulting, PwC Consulting and IBM Global Business Services, where there are three spoken languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish, and I developed most of my language skills in these companies. I got my International Executive MBA at FIA-USP/ Vanderbilt, and an academic Master's degree in business administration at USCS. I also specialized in organizational design, operation services, business process management and project management in countries like Brazil, France, England and the United States over the past fifteen years.
Besides being a translator and lecturer, I'm a teacher in Brazilian institutions as FIA-USP, FIAP and Trevisan. Additionally, I co-authored the book ‘Project Pain Reliever: A Just-In-Time Handbook for Anyone Managing Projects’, published in 2012 in the USA.

During her career as a translator and interpreter Mrs. Mañana has worked in several areas: international affairs, clinical trials, business, education, tourism, literature, and the legal and medical fields. Since 1988, she has been working as an in-house and freelance translator and interpreter in different countries and different agencies: The Organization of American States, The European Union, and The Southern Common Market. In addition she has experience teaching Spanish and French as a Second Language and Spanish for the workplace; she has worked in both the private and the public sectors.
She had been the Director and Instructor for the Translation/Interpreting Certificates at Durham Technical Community College from 2003 until 2011. She developed, implemented and perfected the Community Spanish Facilitator certificate that received the National Council of Instructional Administrators Award in the “Responding to Community Needs” category. In 2005, she started the only Medical Spanish Facilitator Certificate program in the North Carolina Community College System and the entire state.
