Since I left university more than 2 decades ago, I have been a linguist either for localization vendors, or IT companies as an in-house expert or as localization project manager. 11 years ago, I chose to become a freelancer.
I have a huge experience in the IT field acquired from the beginning of my career. I have helped to localize software packages of all sizes related to Medicine, Development, Social Media, Antivirus, Operating Systems, Word Processors and Spreadsheets, etc. Even though, IT has been my main focus for a very long time, I chose from the beginning of my freelancing career to diversify and have been working ever since on specialisms in which I was interested and have specialized, including, amongst others, international organization (WHO, UN Women, Red Cross, AU), government organizations and departments like the Department of State, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Defense (non-classified material), the Library of Congress, etc.
On a side note, I have also tested, selected, and deployed translation management systems for past employers.
