ProZ.com powwow: Informal lunch

October 2, 2008, 12:30 pm

Hello,

I thought it would be nice to have an informal lunch to meet local colleagues and break up the working day. (Children are welcome if you can't find a babysitter, I'll most likely bring my baby boy along as well.)

As a venue I'd suggest the Slug and Lettuce at the Riverside, as the menu looks great and it can easily be reached from both the station and the Oracle car park. (Here's a rough map http://www.slugandlettuce.co.uk/reading/about/where_to_find_us_and_how_to_contact_us/) Please can you confirm by 25.09. if you'll be able to make it so I can book us a table, thanks.

With regards to discussion topics, I'd be particularly interested in the "translating into one's native language only" debate, but again any topic is possible of course.

Nicole

Hi Nicole and thanks for organising. Pleasant lunch, nice to meet new faces and weren’t we lucky to have weather like that while we skyved off for half a day?
Jamie was great. Sitting there clearly making mental notes and showing no signs of boredom about translator chit-chat. Du sollst auch Deutsch mit ihm reden, damit er ein Top-Übersetzer wird.icon_wink.gif
