Then why on earth it does not work for Autohotkey scripts, even for very simple codes like "Press Ctrl+C, press Ctrl+V"? I haven't tried to use it for AHK scripts myself, but one reason why it might not work is that the system doesn't have knowledge of anything after a certain date, which means it won't know anything or much about the new version of AHK, v2. However, I have been having a lot of fun lately with Python scripts, which it is very much able to create. If you make sure to ask the right questions, that is with a sufficient level of detail, it will spit out a fully functional Python script to do pretty much anything you want. If the script is produces has an error you can also ask it to fix the error, which it will also do. It even produces nicely commented code. For example, the other day I wanted to quickly add or remove a single space from the beginning and end of each line of a text file. It created a nice little Python script for me (with a GUI) in 5 seconds that does exactly that. It made a little GUI script for me to convert a TSV file into a .dsl file for use in GoldenDict. I've even created several rudimentary dictionary apps, which I am currently refining and playing around with. I currently have a subscription and use the new version, 4.5. | | | Stepan Konev Oroszországi Föderáció Local time: 09:24 angol - orosz

Ok, that makes sense. Btw, I didn't know that v.2 was released. I still use v.1. Thank you for updating me on this.

Yeah sure, just ban it - problem solved. All you need to do on a worldwide network that is by design impossible to "compartmentalize" if you want to keep it usable ... You could as well ban gravity. Try to stop all sort of cheaters from using a free tool - good luck with that. Reminds me of the uphill battle to stop IT novices from bringing floppy disks and installing "funny games" on their job computers. At the time when malware was written by vandals bent on wrecking your computer, not stealing information. Sure, a ban is going to put the djinn back in the bottle. | | | Some thoughts | Apr 10, 2023 |
From my view, I believe translators are not an endangered species, but technology is changing how they work. Computers can do some translation tasks now, but humans are still much needed for more complex work. Translators who can adapt to these changes, embrace new technologies, and uphold professional standards will continue to be in demand. | | | Yes, we are an endangered species. | Apr 11, 2023 |
And for those saying that ChatGPT and other AI are not good enough or point to its errors, let’s remember that it is still early days and an increasing number of resources are being put into this tech all the time. | | | Baran Keki Törökország Local time: 09:24 ProZ.com-tag angol - török
If this ChatGPT is so fucking fantastic, then let them put it to a real test and replace the incompetent idiots in the VAR room, and let's see if the teams are robbed of valuable points at this stage? VAR was meant to eliminate 'human error', but it seems that with the technology at the hands of humans things still get f*cked up (see the Brighton game last weekend). So humans need to be replaced completely by machines to get things right.. Way to go ChatGPT and its champions.. | |

It can be hard to look beyond the hype. GPT is not an MT, it's an LLM. This means that it's build for general purpose but not specifically for MT only. This is why it's still outperformed by other MT engines in specific language pairs or workflows. Like any other MT it will suffer from the style derived from its training data, with the ups and downs this entails. Some translators claim AI is just a tool for translators. But do your math. Such a tool that enables to translate 3 times faster is going to deprive 66 percent of the translators of their job. It s just math. Whatever it s called, Deepl, Chatgpt or any other the threat is here.

I agree with your comment, but actually everybody, when falling off the cliff, cries "No". The onset of AI is seen by most people as sort of such falling off the cliff. Hence the "No" conclusion by AI. Not because they are convinced but rather because they are frightened. Inventing an engine resulted in 100% cut among horse carriage drivers. Was it evitable? What is meant to happen will happen, and we must be prepared for that.
