I came to the USA from Cuba in the early 1960's and thanks to the insistence of my parents and grandmother, grew up with a very formalized Spanish training program at home. This was to serve me well in life. I eventually went on to become an attorney with the US Government. After my retirement, I could think of no greater joy than to work in languages so I became an interpreter and a translator. Most of my work has been in the medical interpreting field, but I am now ready to branch out into translation and will be taking courses from the University of Toronto starting this fall. I am very excited at this prospect as I have always enjoyed doing translations. |
