neutral Thomas Johansson : or "insensitive to bending" // Right. "bend-sensitive" is easier to handle grammatically in a variety of contexts and the better choice if one standard form is sought. "insensitive to bending" is just an alternative for more relaxed constructions.

Strangely enough, this variant is used in technical texts very rarely, everyone uses "bend(-)insensitive"
