Discussion

Sven Petersson Feb 14, 2013:
@ Deane, "Huvudbearbetningen" is "varmvalsning". Do read my reference! If Ian had been looking for a "Google Translate" translation, then I bet he would have used Google Translate, and not ProZ.
Deane Goltermann Feb 14, 2013:
No really Sven, you want to differentiate between efterbearbetning, efterbehandling, and this eftertempo, then tell us what is huvudbearbetning in the greater scheme of things...I'll leave it to the asker to do his research, but I'd say George and I are closer to what looks like a job description that he wants to keep short...
George Hopkins Feb 14, 2013:
Tempo ...is a word used eg, in a list of work operations. In manufacturing for example: drilling, threading, deburring, which can be done in three different operations -- tempo.
Lene Johansen Feb 14, 2013:
Post tempering? I wonder if tempo might be an abbreviation for tempering.

post-manufacturing processing; post-manufacturing treatment

Eftertempo avser de operationer som utförs efter att huvudbearbetningen är genomförd.

Example from reference: "Eftertempona består av en riktning och sågningslinje."
Peer comment(s):

disagree George Hopkins : Eftertempo appears to be part of the manufacturing process and not some post-manufacturing event. Stick to the question...

Not so; one manufactures seamless tubes, and after the manufacturing one straightens the tubes and cuts them to length. Do read my reference!

second operation

Heres an idea at ... http://www.wulkan.se/doc.asp?M=100000127&D=600000383&L=EN.

Then you can hunt down your context! Good luck

disagree Sven Petersson : The "efter huvudbearbetningen" is totally lost in your translation.

Possibly subsequent operations, ie, plural.

The question is 'eftertempo'. Subsequent = efter. Operation = tempo. Go from there.

reworking

It has been translated as 'reworking' in the reference below, but I don't know whether it is a correct term.
