Spanish term

Liquidación de siniestros

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Insurance, works of art
- Cláusula de Liquidación de siniestros sin franquicia

again, this is what has to be in an insurance policy for works of art (when they are borrowed)

Thanks very much for all ideas!!

loss settlement clause without deductible

Lo difícil aquí era el significado de 'sin franquicia'. Encontré la respuesta en un part de glosarios.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Actually, it was the liquidación that was bothering me, since I'd seen it as "adjustment" in an insurance dictionary, which confused me a bit, franquicia is easy (I put excess) - it's also in the glossaries over and over. Anyway, thanks a lot everyone for suggesting settlement - I had a bit of a block!"

total loss settlement [or, payment] clause

A possibility from the Cabanellas-Hoague, which gives "siniestro" as total loss [among a few others].

Luck Nikki!

neutral Paul Stevens : In all my insurance experience, I have never come across "siniestro" as meaning "total loss". This is normally "perdida total" in Spanish (sorry about the missing accent!)

Claims' settlement clause without a deductible

This simply means that, in the event of any loss or damage that is a valid claim under the policy (i.e. covered by the policy), the amount paid out for the claim will be in full, or without any deductible (the initial agreed amount of any claim normally borne by the Insured) being deducted from the gross amount of the claim.

neutral Sue Horn : The apostrophe here is rather forced.
