To Dikkerdje:
Dutch and German are two different languages. Similar, to be sure, but different. Quoting from a Dutch-English dictionary for a German-English translation seems rather dubious to me. I\'ve quoted from a German-English source. A similar-looking Dutch word may not mean exactly the same as the German one. So you should proceed with extreme caution if you\'re going to base an answer for one language pair (in this case, German-English) from a dictionary used for another language pair (Dutch-English here).
