Mine is the rare case when someone gathers professional experience for years and only then obtains a qualification for it. I was an ‘invisible’ translator or ‘secon...d-job’ translator, which means that I was employed under a number of different job descriptions doing translations for 20 years (as a laboratory assistant, official in charge, bilingual secretary, teacher) in the field of

Nowadays everybody translates everything, however, the questions is how. After 20 years of professional experience I still felt that I would need to perfect my translation skills, so I decided to study translation at the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania. 3 years leater I graduated with an overall average mark of 9.90 for the three years of my studies. I passed the final examination for a bachelor’s degree, obtaining the maximum mark (10) at the Transilvania University Brasov, Faculty of Letters, domain of studies Theoretical and applied linguistics, programme name TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING STUDIES, and I obtained an English-Hungarian translator-interpreter diploma.
Now I’m a full-time self-employed enterpreneur in my officially registered freelance translator business. In addition to the above mentioned specialty fields
• I translate books in the field of spirituality,
• I do subtitling of films and video lectures, and
• certified translations of official documents (birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates, wills, diplomas, educational records, real estate purchase and sale documents, etc.). I can also provide a notarized certification to accompany translations.More Less Message: Dear fellow translators,
