September 30 - ProZ.com's 3rd annual Freelance translator virtual conference

As a ProZ.com registered translator or interpreter, you are eligible to participate in the recruitment day event.

    How does it work?

    • Registered translators and interpreters will be permitted to view all listings from agencies and LSP's that have recruitment needs. You will be able to sort and view listings by category.
    • Once you find a recruitment listing that you are interested in, you will be able to express interest in that outsourcer and grant that outsourcer permission to contact you via ProZ.com (your email  and private contact data will not be revealed).  Outsourcer communication will be through ProZ.com's proxy mail server.
    • You will only be able to express interest in those recruitment needs where your skill set and language pair match the requirements set by the outsourcer.  This is a good reason to ensure that your profile is complete and up to date.

    Is there a cost?

    • No. Any registered ProZ.com translator or interpreter will be able to participate, however ProZ.com members will be permitted to express interest in up to 15 agency listings, while non-members will be restricted to express interest in only 5 agencies or outsourcers.

    Recruitment Sep 28, 2011

In all jobs English to Portuguese it must be specified if it's Brazilian or Continental Portuguese, because they are quite different.

Portuguese: Brazilian? European? African? Sep 28, 2011

    I agree with Martha Rosemberg.

Jobs for Portuguese must say: Brazilian, European, African.

I waste lot of time checking a post that do not request Brazilian PT.

Limit on Expressing Interest Sep 28, 2011

This page indicates that Proz.com members can express interest in up to 10 companies, but I see a limit of 5 for me. Thanks, Drew.

    It works Sep 28, 2011

    It works now!

By the way, for various reasons I display my nick here on ProZ. However, it would be nice to have an option to display the full name for the virtual events.

When you register for the event, you can (and you did) enter your real name (I double checked for you). This data is specific to each event registration and is what is used/passed to exhibitors when you visit their booths. When "expressing interest" in an outsourcer, you have an opportunity to enter your name and contact details - this name/contact is what is displayed to the outsourcer as "applicants". Of course that outsourcer can still click to your profile and will see your site name.

So, yes you can enter a real name instead of your site name, and in both the exhibitor view, and outsourcer view, they will see that real name...if you have entered it.

Thanks for taking part in today's recruitment event. Hope to see you on Friday for the BIG International Translation Day event.
