Yes. You have to ask them first, though.
If you don't ask them and simply assume that they'd be okay with it, you may discover later that they were not okay with it.

It is always better not to divulge your agencies/ clients names for 1. No need to ask permission to add their name. 2. Donot let your competitors know, to prevent under quoting and take away your market- especially true if your language is having low diffusion so jobs are few. 3. Prevent the agencies from comparison shopping- “ how much are you getting from XYZ company per word/ per hour etc. ?” 4.if the agency is having low blue board rating - no point to add them.... Instead, show your experience- years, domains, daily output- that will be more interesting to the agencies looking for new talent. ▲ Collapse

No, it's better to just list the nature of the task (translation, MTPE, proofreading, ...), word count, general description and end client. It may be a good idea to label the last column "end client" instead of "client" because working directly with Siemens and Apple may seem a bit sus.
When project/vendor managers read that, dollar signs pop up in their eyes like in cartoons.

First of all, I would think about creating/completing your profile on Proz. I've been working since 2005 as a freelance translator and I've never disclosed the names of any clients/agencies on my CV. First, let your customers get to know you, before you want them to get to know you that way.

People working for elite/premier agencies (are there such entities anymore, if they ever existed?) don't need to advertise their agency relationships. There's little prestige accruing to affiliation with with "Mom & Pop's All-Languages Translation Shop" in Houston (or the equivalent in Warsaw or Kuala Lumpur). I recall only one instance when I disclosed working for another agency. Decades ago when applying at a local LSP I was asked whether I had worked for any other local agencies. I mentioned having worked on several projects for a notoriously demanding and opinionated individual. The fact that I had worked for him repeatedly was apparently an indication that I was at least competent and easy to get along with. Apart from that one instance, I was never asked about my agency affiliations.
In addition, project managers who might know who you are come and go; agencies are swallowed by other LSPs or go out of business. What might seem to be a relevant entry on your résumé/CV one month could be meaningless the next. You're really better off stressing your qualifications. ▲ Collapse
