An Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Translation. A practical guide for translators, especially beginners. Also available to download. Becoming a Translator provides the information and advice that translators really need, such as how to translate faster and more accurately, how the job market works, and how to deal with stress. Organized in a user-friendly style, the book provides translators creative activities and exercises designed to speed the learning of both theory and practice.
I read it last year and I've been working as a translator for over 8 years, but I still found it an interesting way to keep me thinking about my everyday activity. It gave some nice ideas too.
Interesting points made, some of them quite thought-provoking and nice to see an interdisciplnary approach to translating. Wish it was on the curriculum in our university.
