Tips for Writing a Good Resume
Include a JOB OBJECTIVE at the beginning of your resume
Emphasize accomplishments on the job instead of job duties
Don’t include hobbies on your resume unless they are relevant to your job objective
If you don’t have any experience in the kind of work you want to do, do some volunteer work to get a brief period of experience right away
If you have lots of short term jobs, combine similar jobs into one chunk to minimize the job-hopper image
The Interview Process: During the Interview
Arrive on time!
Smile and shake hands with interviewer
Be aware of body language; make eye contact
Speak clearly and slowly
Turn off cell phones!
Don’t tell jokes or information that is too personal
Ask questions
Thank interviewer and shake hands
Tax Filing Requirements
All workers must file a tax return, especially if you want to apply for immigration papers
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) can be used by you or your dependents if you cannot get a valid Social Security number
An ITIN can be obtained by filing out Form W-7
