Background:
British born and educated with near-native fluency in both Spanish and Portuguese derived from long periods living in both countries. I still speak these three languages on a daily basis both at work and home.

Brazil (1997-2005) - Worked as a freelance translator including for SIMERS (Sindicato Médico do Rio Grande do Sul) as well as working in Portuguese in the sales and marketing for sports clothing and equipment brands and book distribution (my own sales agency). In addition, I produced two weekly radio programs (live sports and meteorology updates) during a five-year period and provided press services for sporting associations.

UK (2005-2009)
Activities during this period included working in International sales promotions company in the FMCG sector, providing specific language expertise for the company´s operation in Portugal. This included the production of marketing material, translations of contracts and legal correspondence and assistance with the set-up of a regional office in Lisbon.

Spain: Pre 1997 and currently since 2009

2011 - 2015: Sales and marketing in the hotel industry. Working daily with translations of both English and Spanish in copywriting, press and customer communication, community management and public relations, website localization, brochures, advertising, blog and web content, event organization, sports and active holidays, business reports and presentations, hotel and tour operator contracts, rules, regulations, terms and conditions in general of events and promotions.
2016 to present: Full-time freelance translator and copywriter working from Portugues and Spanish to English. During this time I have attended professional conferences (APTRAD and MET 2016), as well as completed several CPD courses, including SEO for translators, MemoQ for intermediate users and numerous webinars on writing skills, and in environmental translation.
