Freelance translator (German/English into Slovak), editor and language specialist

My daily cooperation with mostly strong, reputable
partners usually goes beyond the client-translator-editor relationship: I am
involved in evaluating and advising on processes or providing linguistic
expertise. A complex approach is therefore the significant added value that I
can offer you on every assignment.

A large part of my work consists of legislative texts intended for various bodies of the European Union and national administrations. I have also worked in the fileds of book and journal publishing, marketing and trade.

Long-term collaboration:

Since 2014: Slovak
language specialist for Gengo, a Tokyo-based provider of e-commerce translation
and AI services.

Since 2010: External editor for Egmont CZ (member of Albatros Media Group), one of the largest publishers of children's and young people's books in Central Europe.

2020-ongoing: : Regular collaboration with SeproTec, documentation editing and
terminology management for the EU Intellectual Property Office.

2019-ongoing: Co-operation with the3million, the largest campaign organisation for EU citizens in United Kingdom.

2010-2017: Linguistic
supervision of the contract for the European Court of Justice (German-Slovak):
Comparative editing, terminology monitoring, feedback and systematic linguistic
advice to the lawyer-linguists involved (provided for Presto Translations,
Prague).

2014-2020: Translation of German and Austrian legislation to be notified by Member States to the European Commission (provided for Amplexor).

Medicine, life science and regulatory affairs:

2020-ongoing: Collaboration with a research group from the
Department of Orthodontics at the University Hospital
RWTH Aachen, Germany – linguistic supervision: scientific reviews, papers
and research grant applications.

2016-02/2020: Individual client with scientific reviews for
a medical device regulatory authority: Linguistic supervision of a project on clinical trial management and
regulation of biomarkers in oncology clinical trials.

CAT: I work with Trados Studio 2021 and have experience with Memsource,
MemoQ, WordBee and MateCat.
