Source text - English HALLUCINATIONS are very startling and frightening: you suddenly see, or hear or smell something — something that is not there. Your immediate, bewildered feeling is, what is going on? Where is this coming from? The hallucination is convincingly real, produced by the same neural pathways as actual perception, and yet no one else seems to see it. And then you are forced to the conclusion that something — something unprecedented — is happening in your own brain or mind. Are you going insane, getting dementia, having a stroke?
In other cultures, hallucinations have been regarded as gifts from the gods or the Muses, but in modern times they seem to carry an ominous significance in the public (and also the medical) mind, as portents of severe mental or neurological disorders. Having hallucinations is a fearful secret for many people — millions of people — never to be mentioned, hardly to be acknowledged to oneself, and yet far from uncommon. The vast majority are benign — and, indeed, in many circumstances, perfectly normal. Most of us have experienced them from time to time, during a fever or with the sensory monotony of a desert or empty road, or sometimes, seemingly, out of the blue.

נופי ארץ ישראל אינם נשקפים רק בתמונות שאנו מעלים לפייסבוק, או בציורים שתלויים בבתים או בגלויות ישנות שנהגנו לשלוח בעבר. גם מטבעות שילבו מאז ומתמיד אלמנטים ועיטורים שקשורים בארץ ישראל ונופיה.
כך, למשל, כפות תמרים, חיטה או בית המקדש בתקופת בית שני היו עיטורים שנפוצו באופן קבוע על המטבעות היהודיים לאורך התקופות, וסימלו את מצבה של הארץ בתקופה של כיבוש זר או שלטון עצמאי.
החברה הישראלית למדליות ולמטבעות, שהוקמה ב-1961 על ידי דוד בן-גוריון פועלת בכמה תחומים, ביניהם ייצור רפליקות של מטבעות עתיקים, הנפקת מדליות ממלכתיות וגם הפצה בלעדית של מטבעות זיכרון ומטבעות מיוחדים בהנפקת בנק ישראל. בין המטבעות הללו ניתן למצוא גם סדרות מיוחדות שבהן מונצחים אירועים ומקומות הקשורים לארץ ולאתריה.

Los paisajes de la Tierra de Israel no se reflejan solamente en las fotografías que subimos a Facebook, en los cuadros colgados en las paredes de las casas o en postales antigüas que se solían envíar en el pasado. También las monedas, combinaron desde siempre, elementos y adornos relacionados con la Tierra de Israel y sus paisajes.
Así, por ejemplo, hojas de palmeras, trigo, o la Santa Sinagoga en el periodo del segundo Templo, eran adornos que circulaban permanentemente en las monedas de los judíos a lo largo de las épocas, y simbolizaban la situación de la Tierra de Israel en tiempos de conquista extranjera o de gobierno independiente.
La sociedad israelí de monedas y medallas, fundada en 1961 por David Ben Gurion, opera en varios ámbitos, entre ellos la reproducción de replicas de monedas antigüas, emición de medallas estatales y difusión exclusiva de monedas conmemorativas y monedas especiales emitidas por el Banco de Israel. Source text - Spanish Mañana se cumplen 90 años del descubrimiento de la tumba de Tutankamón. El 4 de noviembre de 1922 los trabajadores de Howard Carter, que ya se daba por derrotado en su excavación del Valle de los Reyes, toparon con un escalón de piedra, primero de un tramo de 16 que descendía hacia las entrañas de la Tierra y el mayor hallazgo arqueológico de la historia. Una excelente manera de recordar hoy esa sensacional aventura científica y vital, el encuentro entre el siglo XX y un faraón egipcio intacto, es hablar con la egiptóloga británica Joyce Tyldesley (Bolton, 1960), doctora en Arqueología por la Universidad de Oxford y una autoridad mundial en el Antiguo Egipto. Autora de numerosos libros, entre ellos biografías de Ramsés, Cleopatra, Nefertiti y Hatshepsut, Tyldesley publica ahora en España La maldición de Tutankamón (Ariel), editada este mismo año en inglés y que constituye una apasionante recapitulación y puesta al día de lo que sabemos e ignoramos del dorado faraón y el descubrimiento de su sepultura. “Todo en la tumba es a la vez maravilloso y extraño”, señala.
