I started my translation career at Citibank, Buenos Aires, where I was part of a team called "PC Banking", back in 1986, which was one of the first to implement home banking in Argentina, and I also worked at the External Debt Department.
Already in Bariloche, I worked for seven years at Altec, a company dedicated to the manufacture and development of computers and computer products. I was in charge of all technical documents; this job included the translation of software and hardware manuals, engineering procedures, data sheets, and so on.
From 1993 till 1999, I had my own studio, where I joined my two main activities: translation and graphic design. I have done translations mainly in the fields of computers, communications, software manuals, engineering, finances, architecture, tunneling (for the oil and mining industry), automotive industry, physics, web sites, tourism, social sciences, medicine and history. I have also done many proofreading jobs (mainly literary), and I was in charge, both for designing and proofreading, of three different regional magazines (two technical and one cultural). As from 1999, I am exclusively working as a freelance translator for several agencies and private clients in USA, Japan and Europe.
As from 2004, I collaborate part-time with the Undersecretariat of Science, Technology and Development, Province of Río Negro, Argentina
As part of my job, I work with MS Word, Adobe PageMaker, CorelDraw, Corel PhotoPaint, Adobe PhotoShop, MS Front Page, MS Excel, MS Office 97. I also use Trados Software as a translation aid, when required (currently version 7.5 Freelance)
I can produce not only translation work, but also desktop publishing products as well, and deliver them in final printed or electronic format (PDF), through the Internet or courier if necessary. My present availability is full-time. Rates may vary regarding length and difficulty of text. I am also available for proofreading.
