A big translation project for a very famous Digital Camera brand.
Most of the translation was done by other colleagues but I was in charge of creating a glossary for technical terms, proofreading the translated TTX files in TagEditor and desktop publishing in InDesign CS3.
At the end, all the files were checked and created into one single pdf User-Manual.
Best part of the project was the teamwork and networking with other colleagues in a very professional manner.

This recommendation was acted on, and a report on
academic staff development was prepared by a Working Party and published by the
Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (1981). The Working Party recognized a
need to give greater attention to making the university environment more
receptive to professional development ideas. These ideas are,
essentially, those contained in its Recommendation 2:
·
a
programme of induction for new staff.
·
explicit procedures for
advising staff on their performance; and formal evaluation
programme for all staff.
To make the university environment more receptive,
the following mechanisms are advocated.
·
a review of appointment
and tenure conditions;
·
reduced loads for all
staff in the first year of their probation;
·
introduction of incentive
programmes or reward structures to encourage
effective teaching.
Two further recommendations are made to facilitate
the achievement of the receptive environment. These are recommendations
supporting staff development units and the role of the Australian
Vice-Chancellors’ Committee and the Federation of Australian Universities Staff
Associations in the formulation of salary policies.

BA in English arts and education from Al-Azhar University, which is considered to be the first and the best university that is focused on Arabic and Islamic studies, what had helped me to have an excellent command of Arabic language.
Experience:
More than four years as a full-time freelancer English <> Arabic translator and desktop publisher. Throughout this period, I have been providing translation for reputable companies and agencies inside and outside Egypt in various fields.
Also worked a full-time in-house translator for a well-known company in the field of agriculture and veterinary. Translated many contracts, distribution agreements, documents, brochures, fliers, and leaflets of many products, which helped me to gain extra experience in translation especially when it comes to legal and veterinary documents.
More than that, I did lots of voluntary work for some well-known nonprofit organizations in Egypt and Arab countries and lately for World Health Organization “WHO” as a co-translator in its book “EMRO PARTNER IN HEALTH, 1949 - 1989” in which I was chosen as one of the best five translators worked on the book.
