ProZ.com powwow: Informal Get-Together for Translators

June 7, 2008, 3:00 pm
United KingdomNottinghamIn personEnglish
The next Nottingham powwow will be held on Saturday 7 June from 3 pm at the Ha! Ha! Bar. Linguists and partners/friends all welcome.

This is a spacious bar on Weekday Cross (on the way to the Kean's Head for those who have been before) and generally seems quiet in the afternoons, offering teas and coffees in addition to alcoholic beverages.
If you are interested in joining me for lunch there beforehand, please let me know.

Address:
Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen
Weekday Cross
Nottingham
NG1 2GB
Website: www.hahaonline.co.uk/ (then use "Find my local Ha! Ha!)

The focus of this powwow will be on informal networking. Here are some ideas for future powwows:

- Kaffee & Kuchen (Coffee & Cake) afternoon with an informal discussion on building and maintaining customer relationships
- A summer picnic (close to a real ale pub in case it rains)
- Tapas lunch at La Tasca including learning/helping others learn how to order food in Spanish for fun...

Would be interested to hear your ideas too at the powwow and also for help in organising future events!

Best regards, Sarah

Some of you will also notice that you are newly verified members.
Am thinking 19 July for the next meeting and perhaps 23 August for a summer picnic - do those dates conflict totally with anyone's schedule?
Sunny greetings,
Sarah

Thank you! Jun 9, 2008

As usual, we really enjoyed the chance to get out of our routine and meet up with interesting and interested people. The July date could prove a bit problematic (work), but August might be feasible.

Another great day out in Nottingham, thanks Sarah. The July date sounds good, but I'll be on holiday the last two weeks of August.
