Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe...
I can't remember who sings it, but I love this song, always puts a smile on my face. | |

Songs that always cheer me up ... | Nov 8, 2007 |
Here are some of my favourite songs that put always a smile on my face
Gershwin's "Summertime" sung by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

and last but not least also Indian music (due to my Indo-German family background), artists like Ravi Shankar and his Sitar performance or Zakir Hussain and sometimes even "light entertainment" like Hindi songs (not all of these Bollywood songs, of course), personally I would say that many songs of the old Hindi movies of the fifties and sixties have better lyrics and rhytm compared to those of present times and the music was at that time really played with instruments and without keyboards or synthesizers.
One of these famous old films is "Mughal-e-Azam", the story takes you back to the life at the court of Mughal emperor Akbar the Great and his son Salim and is a little bit sentimental like most of these films but the music is nice and the actors like Dilip Kumar or Madhubala have much charisma and charme.
Maybe you try this song: "Teri Mehfil mein"

One of the most beautiful songs | Nov 13, 2007 |
This song is from the great Spanish movie "Carmen" directed by Carlos Saura starring Laura del Sol and Antonio Gades.
I love Spanish Flamenco music and in this film both the Flamenco dance and the music by Georges Bizet are performed in a perfect, beautiful combination. It makes really all your senses tremble

the 80s and... | Nov 14, 2007 |
My body goes crazy when i am listening to songs from the 80s.. But if I had to mention a couple of songs that I just can't help singing aloud, i'd say:
- George Michael "faith"
- the Cure "lovecats"
and pretty much all Depeche Mode and (don't judge me..) Wham songs..
