I am reasonably sure that they are referring to the type of container shown in the link (also available in plastic, but stainless stell is more common). At one ex-workplace (selling burgers!) what we called "tillbehörskantin" were stainless steel containers that held lettuce, dressings, sauce etc and were kept in a refrigerated unit.
