Birch-wooded marshland
I would go with this or "Birch-forested marshland".

birch marshland / bog forest
I think marshland (or bog) better characterises the kind of "soggy" ground you get in Sweden, if this a Swedish forest? The "örttyp" is part of a system of classifying forest vegetation type, you can see more info in the links below. You could translate the whole sentence like this (depending on who will be reading this):
"The natural habitat type is birch marshland forest with a herb field layer" (if the readers are not mainly researchers, you can use "herb ground vegetation" instead of "layer type"). Hope that helps.

Sorry - I meant to say "herb ground vegetation" instead of "herb field layer" (not "layer type" as written above).

: I agree that these a good terms for the translation, but they seem to be less commonly used.

My feeling is that swamp forest is used more in the USA, and marshland in Europe. Perhaps it would be best to choose the best term based on the where the client is based.
