: Yes, but remove the word "cover" as it's implicit in the term "foreign exchange forward contract."

I - personally - agree, that's the term I used when I was in the markets, but the AVH specifically uses "cover", and I preferred to leave it as that, since most askers require a conventionally founded answer. What shall I say...

contract to hedge a foreign exchange risk / contract to hedge foreign exchange risks
The use of the term "hedge" as a verb is quite common in US accounting literature. Below are three sentences that use "to hedge" as a verb, transcribed from "Accounting Trends & Techniques" / 2006 edition published by the AICPA:
Examples:
The company also enters into forward exchange contracts and cross currency swaps "to hedge" intercompany activity. (Accounting Trends & Techniques - AICPA / 2006 edition, P. 102)
Gains and losses on short-term forward foreign exchange contractsused "to hedge" the fair value of certain firm sales commitments with third parties are recognized in earnings as are the losses and gains on the related firm commitment. (Accounting Trends & Techniques - AICPA / 2006 edition, P. 100)
Forward foreign exchange contracts and derivatives thereof are used "to hedge" the cash flows of certain forecasted sales and intercompany firm sales commitments. (Accounting Trends & Techniques - AICPA / 2006 edition, P. 100)
Hope this helps.
