juguetes (in this context)

Spanish to English Social Sciences Economics Leisure industry activities
This is a column in a table. I orignially thought 'juguetes' could be Gaming/Gambling but then wouldn't it be included with Loterías y Apuestas?? I looked up gambling/gaming and it seems to be called 'juegos' and not 'juguetes'. Can anybody enlighten me?

Discussion

Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jun 27, 2008:
Better not to delve any deeper into that one! Well, the table is included in a study about which business activities are defined as belonging under the umbrella 'Culture and Leisure' so I suppose toys are included in this group, being used in leisure activities - whether by adults or kids! :-)
Giovanni Rengifo Jun 27, 2008:
I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out how the word "juguetes" got on a list of leisure and entertainment activities for adults.
Noni Gilbert Riley Jun 27, 2008:
It would be, wouldn't it! I think toys is going to be alright though.
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jun 27, 2008:
It's the last item in the list
Noni Gilbert Riley Jun 27, 2008:
What comes next in the list Lisa? Or is it the last item?
Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jun 27, 2008:
hmmm, I don't know - I just thought 'Toys' didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the activities. Wouldn't it then be 'toymaking'? The table title is 'Demarcation of the Culture and Leisure Industry' and it includes other headings such as 'Creativity, Support, Culture..
E. David Curiel (X) Jun 27, 2008:
LM - what is the context here? What report, etc. is this table a part of? Any reason to believe it's not simply "toys"? (Certainly a part of ocio!)

Toys

There is no CONTEXT to show anything different; therefore "juguetes" must be toys. Don't ask why, ask why not?
Note from asker:
I think it's always best to ask Why? actually. Or maybe it's just my inquisitive nature :)

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Cheers Henry! after a bit more scouting around it looks like this refers to toymaking but in the end I just put toys."

toymaking

I still think the best answer with the info given in "toys," but if it is indeed talking about industries, it follows that it would change to "toymaking." Suerte!
