@ Dorothy Yes, you could be right. To hype or not to hype, that is the question. I personally would consider it a luxury to spend a weekend in a standard room, as long as I didn't have to make the beds!

Just want to agree Especially some hotel chains are exaggerating their services. The "standard room" is often denominated as superior room and the next higher room type often the luxury room before the club room with special services attached. So I think luxury rooms is fine due to the fact that the original Comfort Zimmer wants to convey more service than the standard room.

Luxury is possibly going a little too far... Something has just occurred to me and I hope Ramey won't mind me saying this... Although "luxury" is certainly an option here, I think the gap between "standard" rooms and "luxury" rooms is too much - it would seem strange to me if a hotel offered standard rooms and luxury rooms and nothing in between... Just something for Heidrun to bear in mind maybe...

This just seems like fancy Denglisch to me - a very popular style in this industry! ;)

From looking at the website in question I see that there are two types of rooms available - "Standard" and "Comfort". I would translate the categories as "Standard" and "Superior" and try to work the word "comfortable" into the description of the "Comfort Zimmer".

"Comfort" room

I'd leave it as "Comfort" unless you're absolutely sure that this is a superior room as opposed to a "standard" room or vice versa. My favourite hotel in Austria has two categories of rooms: "Comfort" (which is in effect standard but is very luxurious anyway!) and "Rose Garden", which are the super deluxe rooms. See www.tennis-hotel.at. These categories are very specific to individual hotels....
