Fan decks

Peer comment(s):

agree Gordon Matthews : "fan deck" is good because it distinguishes the product from an advertisement fan, which is simply a paper fan carrying a printed advertisement.

I would say. "Trays" could also be an alternative. Difficult to say without more context.
Note from asker:
Hi! In this case, the term "Fächer" refers to a type of fan-like catalog or brochure. See link!

"Fächer" are fans; fans to cool, fans to open and spread out. In this case, the fan, when it is open, displays advertising slogans.

I had not seen the term "fan deck" before - this must be the standard US-English term.
In the UK, it is "swatch card".
Peer comment(s):

disagree Pallavi Shah : There is a difference between swatch cards and fan decks. You can have fanned swatch cards. See material samples of a manufacturer. http://www.leedsamples.com/material-samples/swatch-cards/

Just because swatch cards can take different forms doesn't mean that the example heimo provided isn't a swatch card. My point was it's mor likely to be called a swatch card in the UK. Your example is from the States.
