French term

point d'étape

French to English Other Other press release
This is from a press release about concerns over side effects of a group of drugs. The beginning of the document, just ahead of the title of the announcement is:
"COMMUNIQUE DE PRESSE
Point d’étape
[date]"

No more context, but I see by googling lots of announcements in various fields seem to be referred to as a "point d'étape".

update

An element of guesswork/interpretation here.

An "update" in this sense - new information to hand - is not the same as a "mise à jour" (which could - in theory - cancel certain information already given, etc. and would not be used in this context).

It is a "point" (mise au point, flash, bulletin) about the stage reached (in terms of new info.).

Could also be a "progress report" - which is nothing more than an update, is it not?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you everyone, all the suggestions seemed to work in my context. I went with interim report, as it seemed concerned with remaining tasks as much as progress to date. "
