DUT doen't fit anywhere into the LMD scheme; In "licence", students learn a lots of theory, but in DUT they are also taught practical applications (that is why you have it in biotechnology). In fact, it is more professionalizing.

Usually "degree" courses last longer and are more intensive than "diploma" courses. A medical "degree" but a "diploma" in nursing, for example; But some people might prefer to overlook the difference...

different degrees of Degrees Thank you Sheila. It is often difficult to come up with a translation when there is no exact equivalent, not only in qualifications, but in other topics as well. There is, I believe, supposed to be a European matrix giving the equivalent qualifications in the different countries. Unfortunately not everyone adhers to this.

University technical degree

There are various possibilities, of course, but I believe this to be the most concise explanation. For a CV, I would add "2-year" to make it clearer - depends a little on context. Note that this is a translation, not a diploma name, so don't capitalise it.

neutral ACOZ (X) : Although this has been translated as "degree" on the French websites given, I would hesitate to use the term because a DUT is awarded after only 2 years of higher education. US equivalent = "Undergraduate Degree"; in the UK = university diploma
