Since six years, I have been working in Paris as an interpreter-translator of bengali, hindi & english.
Usually I am asked to translate these languages to french. I often work with asylum seekers, non-french speaking immigrants in schools, hospitals, & in health centers during general & ethnopsychiatric consultations as an "interpreter specialized in medicine" keeping an eye, lending an ear to avoid misunderstandings due to language barriers.
As a translator, I have worked on projects (french-english) related to myocardial infarction, Parkinson's disease, asthma, relapsing multiple sclerosis, hypertension & treatment with diuretics. I work also as a part-time english language teacher in a university in Paris.
Having studied medicine in India & literature in France, I have near native skills in english & french. I'm of course familiar with all kinds of medical terminology.
