auto dismantler

c'est une traduction trouvé sur ce site.

"Just as the scrap recycling industry has become progressively more sophisticated with time, the automobile recycling industry is also evolving. Today’s auto dismantler, besides having access to a variety of technological tools, is committed to total recycling and to offering competitive customer service"

neutral Chris Collins (X) : If we're talking UK English, it would be "vehicle dismantler (that's what is says in Yellow Pages).

Merci Alain!

breaker

This is off the top of my head -hence low - but I think this is it. In France, many breakers yards also offer garage services so it isn't as crazy as it sounds.

Thanks Rebecca
agree Charles Hawtrey (X) : Maybe all 3 replies are correct in their different ways in today's greener world? I never thought of breaker's yards as being green (more the opposite!) but...

Thanks Charles
neutral Chris Collins (X) : In the UK we would know what a car breaker was, but we're more likely to use "scrap yard" colloquially or "vehicle dismantler" more formally.

Well I agree with you that "dismantler" is a more formal word.

recycler

French CNPA (former CSNCRA) indicates that the recycler's job is to provide detail parts and assemblies stripped from [new/unused] cars which would not sell.
Peer comment(s):

agree Alain Pommet : Maybe prefixed with "auto" or "vehicle"
