Hello again,
I'm having trouble with these terms pertaining to landscaping adapted to disabled people (wheelchairs, etc.). Does anyone know what an "aire d'évolution" would be? Here's the context:
"Les aménagements extérieurs, les cours de récréation ainsi que les patios intérieurs sont accessibles aux chaises roulantes, et incluent une aire d’évolution et un parcours d’autonomie."
I'm also having trouble with the last term in the sentence, so I'll be sending a separate post for that...
Thanks again!

wheelchair usable playground
Reading between the lines.
A wheelchair useable playground is different from a playground that is ADA accessible. Accessible means the child will have to get out of the wheelchair in order to play, useable means they can stay in their wheelchair and play along with their peers. This playground will be different from your typical playground; this playground will be built with ramps instead of stairs so everyone regardless of ability will be able to play together, comfortably without getting out of their wheelchairs.

I suppose a hard surface is better for wheelchair mobility than grass, for instance, quite apart from the issue of steps and stairs.
