Waste ring core förekommer i en handbok för en hylskap i beskrivningen över hela händelseförloppet när en hylsa matas in i systemet:

Long cores may trigger a pause sequence between cuts to improve handling whilst moving the cut core into the loading ‘V’
A cut check sequence may be enabled, this will introduce a short forward/back movement on the chuck index carriage between every cut with a check against sensor S5 to ensure cut core has separated from the parent core. If a failed cut is detected, the machine will make up to three further attempts to cut the core before raising an alarm for the operator.
After completing the cut sequence, the mandrel will stop rotating and the chuck cylinders will open to allow the release of the final waste ring core
The top guide rollers will lift
The bottom support rollers will drop [cylinder, 2A/2B]
