Where groundwater was encountered in the regional aquifer, preliminary air-lift pumping
tests were conducted. Results of initial short-term air-lift pumping tests from the exploration
boreholes in the Tuctu area indicated small potential groundwater yield from the Pucará
Formation in these areas, and further testing for ***yield and aquifer parameters*** was not
conducted. Present understanding of groundwater conditions and yield to wells from the
Pucará Formation suggests that local interception of large quantities of groundwater in areas
adjacent to existing mine workings in the Morococha Mining District above Kingsmill
Tunnel level may not be feasible.
