the family court sitting at
"Family Court sitting" can be a little confusing, as there should be a comma before the word 'sitting', but it is usually omitted. It refers to a "Family Court" proceeding, with the word 'sitting' being used to imply that it will be a normal type of court hearing, rather than something that is handled while standing at some 'front desk' filling out forms and just getting something stamped to show that the result has been recorded. The usual full phrasing is "In the Family Court sitting at [location] [Case No]", where [location] will show if it is for a divorce court, separation court, civil separation court, etc..
