Spanish term

bañando las comarcas

Spanish to English Other Tourism & Travel
Además, Cádiz posee 260 kilómetros de playas que forman la Costa de la Luz y parte de la Costa del Sol, bañando las comarcas de La Janda, el Bajo Guadalquivir, el Campo de Gibraltar y la Bahía.
could be "bathing the area of .." Could do with some ideas.
Thanks in advance.

where the sea washes/gently laps (against/over) the shores of......

I think comarcas becomes redundant,

Simply... the shores of La Janda, ... etc... is self explanatory

And, obviously, you can't really say that it is the shore/beach itself that does the washing/lapping or even bathing - at least not in English!

agree Rick Larg : Yes, obviuosly you need to put in a reference to some sort of water washing or bathing, or whatever, the shores.

many thanks Rick!
agree Richard Boulter : 'Bathing' may not be necessary, but this is colorful text to make the area attractive in the mind's eye, and this translation shows some lovely and flowing color.

bathing is a false friend in this context, beaches can't bathe!!

I had to look this one up. apparently bañar can also be 'to extend', or 'to enlarge'. not too sure though.

providing a shoreline for the regions of La Janda,...

the subject is actually "beaches", which is why I suggest "shoreline" rather than something to do with "bathing"

Is this too far from the original for you?

After reading Carol’s suggestion, I looked at the sentence again and, yes it clearly needs to be rejigged to read “where the sea/water/oceans bathe(s)/wash(es) the shores of the ……….districts”
