It is with great pleasure that I write this report regarding the Proz Powwow that took place in Cuenca on the 7th day of February, 2009.
The purpose of this event was to help other Prozians in Cuenca to develop their profiles, and I can gladly say that we did accomplish that goal. It was very encouraging to see my colleagues going through every area and detail of their profiles, completing the missing information, asking questions about the areas they did not understand, and just the fact of getting together in order to share our experiences and knowledge concerning the business and art of translation.
Not only that, we were also able to invite other translators who became part of Proz during the Powwow, and others are very encouraged to do it in the near future.
This has been a pleasant experience for me as the organizer of this event, and I now encourage my colleagues to organize the next Powwow in our city.
I would like to thank my colleagues in other cities who supported this event, those who had a desire to be with us on this day even though their personal circumstances did not allow it, and those who wrote encouraging messages; many thanks to the Prozians in Cuenca who attended this meeting, and special thanks to Alicia Boroto, for her support and for letting us use the computer lab -and the coffee maker- at her language school for the performance of this powwow. Even more special thanks to my supportive husband, who encouraged me since the idea of this powwow was born, and helped with all the technical aspects during the event.
Last but not least, thank you Proz for approving and supporting this event!
