French term (edited):
exposer - EXPOSÉ
to recite - background (contract: recital)
- if a verb and depends on the part of speech if EXPOSE is a noun that has no acute accent - as a punctuation mark - because of printing problems with upper casing or it acts as a verb (EXPOSE).
il est exposé ce qui suit : (contract or deed) WITNESSES /WITNESSETH (usually all caps in ENG legal drafting) as follows, as opposed to a Last Will & Testament: the following is the background.
BTW, acte de notoriété = 'act of notoriety', as per the Notaries' Bible of Brooke's Notary, footnote 11-66 '..in some respects resembles that of the common law/Common Law affidavit or statutory decaeration..'
