Unique deadline

I recently had the (interesting) experience of being offered an assignment, with the deadline for the first (of three pages) being 24 min. The total of three pages had to be turned in in two hours, which, regarding an urgent matter, I think is reasonable. But these 24 mins really got me. Why not 24 min 30 secs, or 25 min, then?

I may suppose that with such a deadline someone is more dead than alive Or just the usual deadline "due yesterday".

One can only guess that the deadline for the first page was a set time, and by the time the message was written or sent to you, there were 24 minutes left.

Indeed, but, unless you have somebody working in the next door office, how can you rely on such a deadline, half a world apart?

...assigned around 11:00 am? Same day? From India?
