I will be getting an Indonesian document (which will be "certificación oficial acreditativa del domicilio del invitado") translated into Spanish, for the police in Spain, by a sworn translator. I believe it must first be translated into English, although Spain has no Indonesian > Spanish sworn translators.
I first have to find out what this document could be. An identity card, for example? Or would it be some notarized statement?
Secondly, I need to know how this can... You can look for an Indonesian>English sworn translator, there are quite a number, some of them are Proz members. Then you can get the document translated from English into Spanish. Hope this is helpful.

As for the sworn translation, I suggest you try a different root. As you know I am married to an Indonesian national which means that from time to time I need to submit Indonesian documents to Polish authorities. Earlier this month when I needed to provide an Indonesian legal document to a Polish registrar, I did it via the Polish Embassy in Jakarta. Every foreign embassy should provide a document validation service and for a small fee, you can have a statement written in Spanish and stamped by the consul. I have used this service many times in Indonesia and Australia.

From what I understand, if you have the document first translated to English and then to Spanish, only the English to Spanish translation has to be done by a sworn translator.
Anyway, that's what I think I read somewhere recently (I can't remember where, sorry), although I have also seen it done on a couple of occasions (and the documents were accepted).

I think it is possible to just translate it directly into Spanish, using an embassy-approved translator. I think this is along the lines of what Kasia was talking about.

Here is the process:
1) Obtain the Certification of Domicile from the local Indonesian authority.
2) Get it legalized in 2 different government offices (the Foreign Ministry, and, I think, the consulate).
3) Get it translated by a Spanish Embassy-approved translator.
4) Get the original and the translation stamped (legalized) by the Spanish Embassy.

Make sure you have all stamps translated. Leave nothing in the original language.
If not, it will cause problems with the authorities in Spain and they will ask you to go back and get your stamps translated so that they can read them.
