What translation project are you working on right now?
Wrapping up an intense week focused on medical device documentation and oncology research materials! Today will be mostly dedicated to marketing texts for the medical field: some web content and then an intresting brochure for a medical device This morning, I tackled a clinical trial doc review. Now, just one more task: wrapping up a two-week project on ventilation device documentation by tomorrow! This week started with a series of abstracts from clinical studies and will end with a great event on plain language for Italian language: DiParola Festival, with lessons and talks on plain language in the medical and technical field, and of course about inclusive language, very useful to craft patient-facing and public-facing documents addressing correctly minorities and people with disabilities. I can't wait!

Time to put on my translation teacher hat to review and rate tests from my University students 1 user Today is upgrade day! I am ditching Trados 2022 for Trados Studio 2024! Looking forward to all the new features! Back from holidays, in the last weeks I have already tackled a full IVD manual, a ventilation software string update and quite a few clinical study patient documents. I guess it's invoicing time! Working at the last patient consent form of the week! I will then check the published version of mechanical ventilation contents, ending the week with some invoicing! Today I will focus on my translation teaching activity, preparing tests for my students! Today I am preparing a translator training lesson that I will hold in a few days. The focus is on inclusive language in the medical field. It's important to guarantee a respectful and gender-neutral language, especially in patient-facing and public-facing materials: ableism, ageism, paternalism, elderspeak etc. are traps we need to know and avoid at all costs.
