This week started with a series of abstracts from clinical studies and will end with a great event on plain language for Italian language: DiParola Festival, with lessons and talks on plain language in the medical and technical field, and of course about inclusive language, very useful to craft patient-facing and public-facing documents addressing correctly minorities and people with disabilities. I can't wait!

Today I am preparing a translator training lesson that I will hold in a few days. The focus is on inclusive language in the medical field. It's important to guarantee a respectful and gender-neutral language, especially in patient-facing and public-facing materials: ableism, ageism, paternalism, elderspeak etc. are traps we need to know and avoid at all costs.

Patient-facing, Gender-neutrality, Ableism, Elderspeak, Ageism
