#At the end of the Third Age,#
2: 01:00:39.24 01:00:42.12
#Middle-earth
was a land oppressed by shadow.#
3: 01:00:44.03 01:00:46.24
#The people of the North Kingdom
were scattered.#
4: 01:00:47.03 01:00:49.14
#The descendants of Kings, forgotten,#
5: 01:00:51.21 01:00:53.17
#reduced to Rangers
wandering in the wild.#
6: 01:00:58.16 01:01:02.13
#But the Darkness of Mordor
was soon to spread over all lands#
7: 01:01:02.18 01:01:06.11
#and set great
and terrible events in motion.#
8: 01:01:08.00 01:01:11.07
#For the lost Ring of Power#
9: 01:01:09.17 01:01:11.07
#had re-awoken.#

#Its evil master, Sauron,#

#was seeking it.#

#For five hundred years
it had remained out of his sight,#

#and beyond his reach.#

#deep under the mountains.#

19: 01:01:46.13 01:01:48.02
Precious...

#His heart was tortured
with longing for what he had lost#

#and with hatred
for the thief who took it,#

#Bilbo Baggins.#

THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM
24: 01:03:00.24 01:03:03.18
The Rangers have doubled their watch,
25: 01:03:03.01 01:03:04.12
as you instructed.
26: 01:03:04.18 01:03:08.15
- Is it still safe?
- Yes. For the time being.
27: 01:03:18.00 01:03:21.06
The Enemy does not yet know
that the Ring has been found.
28: 01:03:22.01 01:03:22.22
That is well.
29: 01:03:23.06 01:03:24.24
The matter is more complicated.
30: 01:03:25.20 01:03:27.11
I have made a grave error.
31: 01:03:28.05 01:03:31.12
I overlooked something important.
Something dangerous.
32: 01:03:34.02 01:03:37.00
It concerns the former
owner of the Ring.
33: 01:03:38.11 01:03:39.06
Gollum.
34: 01:03:40.17 01:03:43.07
How he came by it, I do not know.
35: 01:03:43.19 01:03:48.14
But he's murderously protective of it,
and now, he has left his cave,
2
36: 01:03:49.09 01:03:51.02
his mind bent on recovering it.
37: 01:03:51.23 01:03:53.22
Gollum knows, doesn't he, Gandalf?
38: 01:03:56.08 01:03:58.00
He knows the location of the Ring.
01:03:59.21 01:04:00.16
Yes.
39: 01:04:02.03 01:04:04.24
Unfortunately,
our secret is no longer safe.
40: 01:04:06.21 01:04:08.19
That foolish Hobbit
revealed his name.
41: 01:04:10.03 01:04:11.13
It should have been destroyed.
42: 01:04:12.07 01:04:13.16
But it was not.
43: 01:04:16.14 01:04:17.12
I will go.
44: 01:04:19.13 01:04:20.17
I will find him.
45: 01:04:23.13 01:04:24.17
Thank you, Aragorn.
46: 01:04:26.15 01:04:27.10
The road will not be easy.
47: 01:04:29.06 01:04:32.02
But you have the foresight
of your people.
48: 01:04:33.08 01:04:34.09
If you can't find him,
49: 01:04:36.13 01:04:37.14
no one can.
50: 01:04:46.11 01:04:48.06
Elendil, forefather.
51: 01:04:49.15 01:04:50.10
The future is hidden from me.
52: 01:04:52.13 01:04:55.04
Give me strength when the time comes.
53: 01:05:27.15 01:05:30.01
#You are the heir of Elendil.#
54: 01:05:48.04 01:05:50.20
#Middle-earth cannot long withstand#
3
55: 01:05:50.24 01:05:53.04
#the Power that now rises in the East.#
56: 01:05:56.07 01:05:58.00
#We are on the eve of a new Age#
57: 01:05:59.24 01:06:01.01
#for which there may be no dawn.#
58: 01:07:09.21 01:07:14.21
#Who knows whither he has crawled
these long years past?#
59: 01:07:16.06 01:07:18.13
#And how so small a creature#
60: 01:07:18.18 01:07:21.13
#has come to risk
the hopes of so many?#
61: 01:08:12.16 01:08:16.00
- Your name and your purpose.
- I'm a Ranger of Arnor.
62: 01:08:15.21 01:08:18.16
I swear allegiance
to the Seven Stars and Seven Stones.
63: 01:08:20.03 01:08:21.11
And the one White Tree?
64: 01:08:25.09 01:08:26.15
You're a long way from Arnor, Ranger.
65: 01:08:27.14 01:08:29.01
And you speak the password
of the Dúnedain,
66: 01:08:29.06 01:08:30.13
yet I know you not.
67: 01:08:31.16 01:08:32.23
I'm Arithir,
68: 01:08:33.20 01:08:35.02
son of Argonathen,
69: 01:08:36.07 01:08:37.23
sent to gather news of the East.
70: 01:08:38.14 01:08:40.05
Then we are kinsmen from afar.
71: 01:08:42.22 01:08:43.20
I'm Strider.
72: 01:08:45.04 01:08:46.06
I have heard your name.
73: 01:08:47.23 01:08:48.18
Friend?
4
74: 01:08:52.02 01:08:54.01
These lands
will not be safe much longer.
75: 01:08:55.19 01:08:58.02
Raiding Orcs prowl the shores of Anduin,
76: 01:08:58.06 01:09:00.11
plundering the villages by night.
77: 01:09:00.24 01:09:02.17
Soon they will be even
this side of the mountains.
78: 01:09:07.17 01:09:09.02
The servants of the Enemy multiply
79: 01:09:09.07 01:09:10.24
as his strength increases.
80: 01:09:12.14 01:09:14.02
Alas,
there are now so few of our kin.
81: 01:09:15.12 01:09:16.07
What of your journey?
82: 01:09:20.22 01:09:22.04
I track a creature.
83: 01:09:23.20 01:09:25.04
A spy of sorts.
84: 01:09:26.17 01:09:28.03
Small in size,
85: 01:09:28.24 01:09:29.21
yet cunning.
86: 01:09:32.14 01:09:34.17
I have seen new breeds of Orc, but...
87: 01:09:35.21 01:09:37.22
they were larger and stronger,
not smaller.
88: 01:09:38.06 01:09:39.15
This is no Orc.
89: 01:09:42.00 01:09:43.04
Its tracks are like those of Hobbits.
90: 01:09:44.17 01:09:46.16
It must not
fall into the wrong hands.
91: 01:09:48.16 01:09:50.02
It's maybe of no use, but...
92: 01:09:51.21 01:09:53.01
I've heard rumours.
93: 01:09:54.18 01:09:56.12
Whisperings of a nameless fear.
5
94: 01:09:58.05 01:09:59.17
In the outlying villages,
95: 01:09:59.21 01:10:02.04
they speak of a ghost that drinks blood.
96: 01:10:02.11 01:10:04.21
A horror that lurks in the trees,
97: 01:10:05.01 01:10:06.19
snatching a sleeping child
from a cot,
98: 01:10:07.07 01:10:09.03
a fresh fish from an open window.
99: 01:10:10.00 01:10:12.20
The villagers lock their doors tight
against the dark.
100: 01:10:14.11 01:10:15.20
Where did you hear this?
101: 01:10:16.18 01:10:17.15
In Ithilien.
102: 01:10:18.12 01:10:20.05
But I've also heard rumours
103: 01:10:20.10 01:10:21.11
as far as the borders of Mirkwood.
104: 01:10:56.15 01:10:58.10
The road is full with danger.
105: 01:10:58.14 01:11:01.02
I would not go further eastward alone.
106: 01:11:01.14 01:11:03.24
That is my road. I must go on.
107: 01:11:05.24 01:11:08.07
Strider,
we must look to our own borders.
108: 01:11:09.13 01:11:10.19
My heart is with you, Arithir.
109: 01:11:11.15 01:11:14.10
Yet, while the trail grows cold,
my quest cannot wait.
110: 01:11:16.17 01:11:18.04
I must return to my people.
111: 01:11:23.23 01:11:25.10
I wish you good hunting.
112: 01:11:26.22 01:11:26.17
Farewell,
6
113: 01:11:26.22 01:11:28.03
brother.
114: 01:12:19.05 01:12:21.06
If you ask me, it's a false alarm.
115: 01:12:21.15 01:12:25.11
There ain't no tracks,
and there ain't no Man-warrior at all.
116: 01:12:25.18 01:12:27.01
Goblok says there's trouble.
117: 01:12:27.05 01:12:29.16
So look out
or you'll get what's coming to you.
01:12:30.01 01:12:30.21
Goblok?
118: 01:12:32.02 01:12:34.10
Goblok's just meat from the mines.
119: 01:12:34.21 01:12:36.20
Big and stupid.
120: 01:12:37.22 01:12:38.17
We should be preparing for the war.
121: 01:12:39.22 01:12:41.09
Forget this stinking raid.
122: 01:12:41.20 01:12:44.03
Look out for Goblok.
He ain't just meat.
123: 01:12:44.07 01:12:46.16
Meat... I want fresh meat!
124: 01:12:46.20 01:12:50.21
My guts are howling, I'm so hungry!
There's something tasty about.
125: 01:12:51.15 01:12:52.22
I can smell it!
126: 01:12:53.01 01:12:55.15
We'll get ourselves
a nice, juicy villager.
127: 01:12:55.19 01:12:58.12
Now stop your moaning
or I'll wring your neck, you scorny rat.
128: 01:12:58.17 01:13:00.05
I'd like to see you try.
129: 01:13:00.09 01:13:02.15
You big, dumb knuckle-heads
are all the same.
130: 01:13:02.20 01:13:05.10
All nose and no intelligence!
7
131: 01:13:07.03 01:13:08.07
Nice try.
132: 01:13:08.12 01:13:09.12
Now back off!
133: 01:13:14.19 01:13:15.14
What was that?
134: 01:13:15.21 01:13:17.09
- I told you there was something.
- Quiet, you fool!
135: 01:13:36.01 01:13:37.01
Dabgash!
136: 01:13:50.19 01:13:52.15
This land does not belong to you.
137: 01:14:25.13 01:14:27.11
#My precious!#
138: 01:15:03.17 01:15:04.19
Stop!
139: 01:15:05.24 01:15:07.11
We have our orders.
140: 01:15:09.14 01:15:10.10
Find him.
141: 01:15:11.16 01:15:12.23
Bring him to me.
142: 01:15:13.02 01:15:14.13
Right away, Goblok.
143: 01:15:52.19 01:15:53.18
Fish!
144: 01:16:36.23 01:16:38.08
Was it wise?
145: 01:17:14.20 01:17:17.01
Be still. You will not escape.
146: 01:17:24.23 01:17:26.02
Do you understand,
147: 01:17:27.12 01:17:28.07
Gollum?
148: 01:17:32.19 01:17:34.23
It knows...
149: 01:17:35.02 01:17:37.17
my names.
01:17:41.06 01:17:42.01
Yes.
150: 01:17:43.00 01:17:43.20
I know your name.
8
151: 01:17:46.24 01:17:48.03
You're coming with me.
152: 01:17:49.04 01:17:49.24
To the north.
153: 01:17:52.04 01:17:54.11
We'll put out its eyes!
154: 01:17:56.11 01:17:59.12
We will...
we will wreck its filthy neckses!
155: 01:18:02.22 01:18:05.18
Wouldn't hurt a fly!
156: 01:18:05.22 01:18:08.23
We promises we'll be very nice.
157: 01:18:11.24 01:18:16.24
Let us out! Let us out!
158: 01:18:22.20 01:18:23.15
Gollum,
159: 01:18:23.20 01:18:25.03
you need to answer me truthfully.
160: 01:18:26.00 01:18:29.04
- I know you are looking for something.
- No, doesn't.
161: 01:18:29.08 01:18:30.13
Something you lost.
01:18:30.20 01:18:31.15
No!
162: 01:18:34.03 01:18:34.23
A ring.
163: 01:18:35.24 01:18:36.21
Precious!
164: 01:18:46.11 01:18:47.16
I will not hurt you.
165: 01:18:49.16 01:18:50.20
I give you my word.
166: 01:18:52.16 01:18:54.12
Keep precious word,
167: 01:18:54.17 01:18:56.07
precious!
168: 01:18:58.17 01:19:00.09
Then you're staying in the sack.
01:19:00.16 01:19:03.08
No! No!
169: 01:19:04.08 01:19:06.00
Let us out!
9
170: 01:19:15.01 01:19:18.18
#What has roots as nobody sees,
nobody sees, nobody sees#
171: 01:19:22.11 01:19:25.06
#Is taller than trees, trees, trees?
Everywhere, trees#
172: 01:19:28.05 01:19:29.00
What?
173: 01:20:12.18 01:20:16.05
What does it want with us, precious?
174: 01:20:18.19 01:20:21.02
He wants it.
175: 01:20:22.05 01:20:25.17
Our birthday present.
176: 01:20:27.02 01:20:28.10
We doesn't have it!
177: 01:20:31.07 01:20:32.24
Baggins has it.
178: 01:20:37.12 01:20:39.04
Wants to know.
179: 01:20:39.21 01:20:40.16
No!
180: 01:20:41.13 01:20:42.14
He'll hurt us.
181: 01:20:45.07 01:20:49.06
We won't tell him anything.
182: 01:20:53.03 01:20:53.23
Besides,
183: 01:20:54.03 01:20:55.15
my precious,
184: 01:20:57.22 01:21:00.13
he won't get far.
185: 01:21:09.14 01:21:11.09
I'm thirsty !
186: 01:21:20.05 01:21:21.10
We rest later.
187: 01:21:29.06 01:21:30.06
He's not looking.
188: 01:21:31.01 01:21:33.01
Go! Go, precious!
189: 01:21:42.05 01:21:43.00
Yes!
190: 01:21:48.07 01:21:49.02
Go!
10
191: 01:21:49.17 01:21:51.19
Go, go, go, go!
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
192: 01:22:01.10 01:22:02.11
We're not alone.

Arwen.
194: 01:28:18.22 01:28:21.10
#You are the heir of Elendil.#
195: 01:28:22.20 01:28:26.00
#You have
the strength of your forefathers.#
196: 01:28:29.17 01:28:30.15
#And...#
197: 01:28:31.15 01:28:33.17
#you have my heart.#
198: 01:29:35.23 01:29:37.02
Come down, Gollum.
199: 01:29:44.23 01:29:46.06
It's coming.
200: 01:29:46.21 01:29:48.06
It's here!
201: 01:31:44.24 01:31:47.10
Come with me. We have your creature.
202: 01:32:05.08 01:32:06.12
Let us out!
203: 01:32:10.09 01:32:12.13
Precious!
204: 01:32:14.17 01:32:16.23
Shire! The Shire...
205: 01:32:18.02 01:32:20.22
Baggins! Shire...
206: 01:32:28.23 01:32:30.11
What did you learn, Gandalf?
207: 01:32:32.17 01:32:33.21
The creature is...
208: 01:32:35.03 01:32:35.23
pitiful.
209: 01:32:36.09 01:32:37.05
Wretched.
210: 01:32:39.15 01:32:42.24
But I now know
how the Ring came to him.
11
211: 01:32:44.17 01:32:47.02
He possessed it long.
212: 01:32:47.06 01:32:49.08
Many lives of his small kind.
213: 01:32:51.02 01:32:52.11
There's no possible doubt.
214: 01:32:53.09 01:32:56.04
He made his slow, sneaking way,
215: 01:32:56.08 01:32:59.08
mile by mile, step by step, south.
216: 01:33:00.21 01:33:02.04
Down at last...
217: 01:33:02.21 01:33:03.22
to Mordor.
218: 01:33:05.21 01:33:08.16
So the Shire is at the forefront
of our enemy's thoughts.
219: 01:33:10.17 01:33:11.24
We must protect it.
220: 01:33:15.15 01:33:17.16
Gandalf,
riders in black have crossed the river.
221: 01:33:19.17 01:33:20.12
I fear the Nine have returned.
222: 01:33:25.03 01:33:27.03
Then the Ring must leave the Shire.
223: 01:33:30.03 01:33:31.13
I must go at once.
224: 01:33:34.08 01:33:37.02
The shadow of the past
once more returns.
225: 01:33:39.10 01:33:40.05
Nevertheless,
226: 01:33:40.10 01:33:41.19
by Gollum's capture,
227: 01:33:42.17 01:33:44.13
we know the Enemy's next move.
228: 01:33:45.03 01:33:47.17
Frodo must be protected at all costs.
229: 01:33:49.14 01:33:50.17
Send the Hobbit to Bree.
12
230: 01:33:53.12 01:33:55.24
I shall watch over the Ring
until you return.
231: 01:33:59.14 01:34:00.09
Very well.
232: 01:34:04.03 01:34:04.23
And Gollum?
233: 01:34:07.13 01:34:10.11
Gollum's wretchedness
is beyond our help.
234: 01:34:12.03 01:34:13.14
He will never be free.
235: 01:34:16.24 01:34:20.04
What had it got in its pocketses?
236: 01:34:22.05 01:34:25.17
It wouldn't say, precious, no.
237: 01:34:27.07 01:34:29.21
No, tricksy it was.
238: 01:34:32.09 01:34:34.10
Little cheat!
239: 01:34:36.15 01:34:39.16
We should have squeezed it!
240: 01:34:40.20 01:34:43.16
And we will, precious.
241: 01:34:45.13 01:34:46.24
We will.

au Mordor.
218: 01:33:05.21 01:33:09.04

Alors l'Anneau doit quitter la Comté.
223: 01:33:30.03 01:33:31.17
Je pars immédiatement.

nous savons où attendre l'Ennemi.
228: 01:33:45.03 01:33:47.16
Il faut à tout prix protéger Frodon.
229: 01:33:49.14 01:33:50.17
Envoyez-le à Bree.

FIDEL CASTRO
