SITE LOCALIZER
.. so it's time to think of all the good agents and agencies who have tried to make us rich since January 1st 2007.
How do you thank them? Do you send Xmas cards? A bunch of roses:-D? A pound of raspberries:P?
Suggestions welcome. Tell us what you plan.

For me, human touch is the most important present of them all. I have never had the chance to meet anyone at the agencies I work with, so this Xmas I´m going to visit them and have a very, very long coffee with them.

I normally send a (hopefully!) nice self-made E-Card with some picture and text I like and find fitting for the season and donate the money I saved for paper mail to Unicef or some similar foundation.
And then I enjoy imagining that the donated money may help someone who needs it at least a tiny little bit. It is part of what Christmas is about, isn't it?

Good ones get a Christmas card.
Special ones maybe something else. Should be something from your culture e.g.
A mug as a penholder - they are cheap to print onto. Message like "Can you really run the risk of having your xxx translations done eslewhere? Smiley + Logo/URL
Maybe not an EN football shirt?

I just regard them people. Most of time they are! Actually I never send presents. All cards together are mixture of e-cards, new season cards and older types. Since the December month isn't without meaning I search the cards stock of a charitative second hand shop, which provides me with real beauties, while the proceeds go to a Yakarta ground school. Well, that is, lying to bed with severe back problems. The insurance doesn't cover a surgery in Münich (80% succes) which he would like to undergo, so he has to find 50.000 Euros himself. So, now the good side of narcism: you like to give somebody nice narcissi on the window sill? 30% is for the benefit of Hans the bricklayer:

Some great lines, Vito! I bet the ones that were "urejeno" were even better.
But: so much for my slightly cynical statement up top.
Apart from 15 tonnes of Christmas shopping junk mail over the fast few weeks, the first Christmas card of this year has just plopped onto my mat.

It would be indeed a funny marketing gift, Chris. Personally, I send to good translation agencies a nice Christmas ecard, have received also greetings from them in the course of the collaboration.

well, ... er ..., as ProZ.com rules say it, it "could be seen as abusive". To even it out, Ill add few lines, my agents could put on their mug gift for me. I can be abusive of myself as well - I do deserve it more often than I would be ready to admit -.
