My first week is fully booked + half a day next week. I can't complain. | | | No complaints | Jan 3, 2023 |
Nothing on Monday, one small job on Tuesday which I completed along with this morning's coffee. My current rather poor health is pretty thankful for that.
I’ve delivered yesterday my first revision job for 2023 (a very small one: 200 words, EN-PT)) and I’m finishing a translation to be certified tomorrow (1,498 words, FR-PT) (in Portugal, unlike other countries, there are no sworn translators, it’s necessary to make its certification at the organisations empowered to do so: Notary’s Offices and/or Attorneys). After a weak December, I feel like I've started the year on the right foot.

I'll celebrate till Christmas which is on Janyary 7. Visiting friends and relatives, watching films, ice skating and so on... These are New Year Holidays, after all! | | | neilmac Spain Local time: 18:10 Spanish to English + ...
First job of the New Year, just a small translation from my main (non-agency) regular client. It appeared at just the right time, when I was starting to get fed up, as the weather here is pretty grim and outdoor activities don't seem very appealing. | | | Tom in London United Kingdom Local time: 17:10 Member (2008) Italian to English Working on it | Jan 3, 2023 |

Working on it. It's a big one, so some initial negotiation/preparatory work is required. Refused one small job today because the client annoyed me in the past and doesn't pay well.

I'm still working on a biggie that came in last autumn, which will keep me busy till mid January.
And I got two small jobs last week that I handed in yesterday too.
So I already have three jobs logged for this year, feels great!

No, no job so far but I cannot grumble. My December was one long job after another so I'm now savouring the lull, which I hope it is. | | | I was sent two jobs before 25 December | Jan 3, 2023 |
I have to deliver the first one (9,500 words) by 12 January and the second one (8,500 words) a few days later.
I had a "holday job" to be handed in on 4th January, sent it away yesterday.
Another small job came in this afternoon, for the 5th, should finish it easily by tomorrow. | | | Week's already full | Jan 4, 2023 |
+I have a part-time contract booked through July.
Back to the grind go I! | |

Took time off until the end of December. Currently have a couple of jobs for delivery tomorrow and Friday, several more for next week, and a bunch at the end of the month, which is seasonal.
Very little between the 12th and the 25th at this point, but most of my clients only came back from holiday today. Will be interesting to see how demand shapes up over the next ten days.
