I have not been active on proz.com for a while, and I truly miss it.
We have recently received complaints by our regular freelancers about Paypal fee increases, and we are looking for alternatives.
Has anyone used xoom.com services anywhere in the world?

Don't know about Xoom, but I'me very happy with Moneybookers, no silly fees.

Hi Jose,

Moneybookers is called now SKRILL, although they use both names. Check the website, https://www.skrill.com/app/

No problem with Xoom May 24, 2012

Hi,
I have been receiving money thru Xoom in Argentina smoothly. I must go to the bank with the transaction number and my ID, and that's all.

Xoom was highly recommended to me, so I filled out the forms in detail; only then did they show me the short list of U.S. states in which they don't provide services. Unfortunately, Vermont is one of them.

Hi,
I am currently getting paid by Xoom from two US translation agencies abroad.

I have been using this method for receiving payments for about two years (about 8/9 payments received) and never had any problem
In this case payments are sent from USA to Italy (directly to my bank account)
It costs only 4.99 USD.

Moneybookers is great as well. Jun 26, 2012

Dear colleagues,

Moneybookrs is great in the sense that it does convert the foreign currency into local one when transferring and it does not cut fees in both sides, when receiving and sending to your bank account. At leat it does so in Turkey. I hear the Xoom for the first time.
