Alan Boydell France Local time: 19:41 French to English + ... Native Speaker Credential | Nov 22, 2004 |
Is there any way that those of us who have 2 declared mothertongues could have these verified at the Oxford conference? This service has been “coming soon” for as long as I can remember and I think that this is the best opportunity we will ever have to set up a mothertongue testing session.
The languages I would personally like to have checked are English and French.
Thanks for considering this request.

Sounds like this ought to be feasible. ▲ Collapse

We can still receive about 15-20 more participants on the day, Saturday or Sunday only, or for both days, but a previous official registration would be much more convenient for all organization tasks.
If you are not coming, please remove your name from the Powwow page.

All interested participants can find a Conference page with the complete program, the speakers and other information in

Thierry LOTTE Local time: 19:41 Member (2001) English to French + ...
Hi dear colleagues !
So sorry to inform you that, unfortunately, I will not be in a position to attend the Oxford meeting.
As a matter of fact, I received a business proposition from one of my best customer (in the interpretation field) that I cannot refuse.
Maybe next year in USA !
Kind regards

Won't be able to do it | Nov 24, 2004 |
I was counting words left to do and days left to go in the hope that I could finally manage but I see I can't travel before Saturday afternoon.
I hope you all enjoy the meeting and report on it!
CharoF Local time: 19:41 English to Spanish New in this world | Nov 24, 2004 |
I´m Spanish, (at the moment living in the wonderful Bay of Cadiz), I´ve been an English Teacher all my life (for 17 years in fact), but because of a problem with my voice, I´ve been thinking of entering this still unknown world of translation. I hope I am not too lost at the Conference. I also hope to meet lots of interesting people, specially someone who can tell me how to get started.By the way, is anybody staying at the Backpackers Hostel? I´d like to contact you!!!

Hi Charo
My name is Reyes (as you've probably gathered, I'm Spanish!) and I've been living in England for almost seven years. I've been a translator and interpreter for the last three years and I will be happy to share my experience with you this weekend.
See you at the conference. I look forward to meeting you.
Regards
Reyes
PS: Cadiz bay...You live in a wonderful part of the world!
