Bio
I took my University degree in Foreign Languages in 1990, studying English and German ; after some years of high school teaching , I began to work as a full time freelance translator on a regular basis in 1996, at the end of a master in IT&TLC technical translation held in Milan, Italy.
My working languages are English and German .
My specialization field in the first years as a freelance translator was IT , for which I translated product documentation, instruction manuals (hardware and software), technical guides, texts for Web pages .
After some time, I gradually specialized in the dental sector and in other branches of the medical-pharmacologic field. For these sectors, which now cover almost all my professional activity, I translate medical product documentation, clinical/laboratory trials, medical device instruction manuals and software, SSCPs, scientific papers, books, documents from international conferences, online medical surveys, MSDSs, commercial brochures, texts for websites , and more.
However, working for both direct clients and translation agencies, in the years I have also acquired notable experience in biology, chemistry, biotechnologies, optics, electronics, mechanics, engineering .
I am an accredited technical consultant for the Court of Reggio Calabria .
Besides the common Office applications, I use Trados , Wordfast , Across, MemoQ, Transit NXT, XTM Translation Manager and IBM Translation Manager in my daily activity, creating my personal glossaries and TMs or using those provided by my clients.
I always carry out my work with high precision and within the deadlines, getting documented on the subject treated in order to acquire the terminologic skills required for a high quality result.
