Source text - Polish Przewlekłe zapalenie może predysponować do rozwoju niektórych nowotworów, natomiast powstałe już guzy
podtrzymują proces zapalny, co stymuluje progresję raka. Zjawisko to przypomina samonapędzający się mechanizm.
Szacuje się, że chroniczne zapalenie jest odpowiedzialne za występowanie około 20% wszystkich nowotworów. W mikrośrodowisku zapalnym stwierdza się obecność aktywowanych czynników transkrypcyjnych tj.: NF-κB, HIF-1α i STAT3 (sygnałowy transduktor i aktywator transkrypcji 3). Wymienione czynniki transkrypcyjne stymulują ekspresję mediatorów stanu zapalnego – różnorodnych cytokin, chemokin, COX–2, a w konsekwencji prostaglandyn. W wyniku obecności tych substancji prozapalnych, w otoczeniu tkanki zaczynają gromadzić się komórki stanu zapalnego. Następuje aktywacja czynników transkrypcyjnych tych komórek, a co za tym idzie wydzielenie cytokin. Proces zapalny zostaje nasilony [8]. W środowisku zapalnym występują także reaktywne formy tlenu i azotu [9], następują też zmiany w ekspresji mikroRNA, które prawdopodobnie przyczyniają się do karcynogenezy [10]. Udowodniono, że komórki zapalne, chemokiny i cytokiny charakterystyczne dla mikro-środowiska zapalnego, obecne są również w mikrośrodowisku wszystkich nowotworów w eksperymentalnych modelach zwierzęcych i ludzkich od najwcześniejszych stadiów rozwoju. Jako kluczowe endogenne czynniki zapalne związane z nowotworem uznaje się NF-κB, STAT3 oraz główne cytokiny prozapalne z grupy interleukin – IL-1β, IL-6, IL-23 oraz TNF-α (czynnik martwicy nowotworu alfa). NF-κB, jest niezmiernie ważnym endogennym promotorem – wspiera karcynogenezę na wielu płaszczyznach. Aktywuje ekspresję genów kodujących cytokiny prozapalne, nasila ekspresję cyklooksygenazy–2, indukowanej formy syntazy tlenku azotu oraz wielu czynników stymulujących angiogenezę. Ponadto, aktywuje ekspresję genów antyapoptotycznych np. BCL–2, co powoduje pojawienie się tzw. nieśmiertelności komórek nowotworowych. Stwierdzono również, że NF-κB wspomaga przerzutowanie. Tak więc istnieją mocne dowody przemawiające za tym, że środowisko stanu zapalnego wspiera wszystkie trzy etapy nowotworzenia począwszy od jego inicjacji, a zakończywszy na progresji [8].
Translation - English Chronic inflammation may predispose to some cancers, while tumors already formed sustain the inflammatory process that stimulates cancer progression. This phenomenon is like a self-propelling mechanism. It is estimated that chronic inflammation is responsible for about 20% of all cancers. The activated transcription factors are present in the inflammatory microenvironment. They stimulate the expression of various cytokines,
chemokines, COX-2, and, consequently, prostaglandins (inflammatory mediators). As a result of these pro-inflammatory substances being released, inflammatory cells accumulate in the surrounding tissue. The transcription factors get activated, and the secretion of cytokines proceeds. The inflammatory process intensifies [45]. In the inflammatory environment, there are also reactive forms of oxygen and nitrogen present [48]. Moreover, changes in the expression of microRNA occur, which most likely contribute to the carcinogenesis [49]. In the experimental animal and human models, it has been proven that inflammatory cells characteristic of the inflammatory microenvironment (i.e., chemokines and cytokines) are also present in the microenvironment of all cancers from the earliest stages of their development. NF-_B, STAT3, and the major pro-inflammatory cytokines of the interleukin family, i.e., IL-1_, IL-6, IL-23, and TNF-_ (tumor necrosis factoralpha), are considered the key endogenous cancer-related inflammatory factors. NF-_B is a major endogenous promoter that supports carcinogenesis on many levels. It activates the expression of genes encoding pro-inflammatory cytokines, enhances the expression of cyclooxygenase-2, the inducible nitric oxide synthase, and various other angiogenesisstimulating factors. Moreover, it activates anti-apoptotic genes, e.g., BCL-2, leading to the so-called cancer cell immortality. NF-_B was also determined to promote metastasis. Therefore, there is strong evidence that the inflammatory environment supports all three stages of cancerogenesis, from its onset until the disease progression [45].

I am a freelance English<>Polish translator and proofreader/editor with strong linguistic skills. My areas of specialization include clinical trials, pharmacy/regulatory affairs,biochemistry/biotechnology, andmedicine.
After living in the UK for six years, I earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the language, which is difficult to achieve without immersion in an English-speaking environment. My proficiency is further confirmed by the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.
I also worked for six years at PPF HASCO-LEK S.A., one of Poland's leading pharmaceutical companies, where I gained valuable experience in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs.
In 2017, I was awarded a postgraduate diploma in specialized translation (WSF, Wroclaw, Poland). In February 2021, I completed a five-month intensive course in medical translation at The Translation Studies Center, Sosnowiec, Poland.
